What it will take to unleash the potential of geothermal power

What it will take to unleash the potential of geothermal power

1. there is heat flowing inside the earth that meets twice the world's total energy demand.

This heat can be harnessed by digging deep underground and converting it into usable energy.

2. The appeal of #geothermal power is its stability.

In contrast to solar and wind power, which generate varying amounts of electricity depending on the weather and time of day, #geothermal power is a stable source of base power because it can generate high output at all times.

It can also be a purely domestic base energy source, unaffected by international conflicts, diplomatic issues, resource depletion or speculative markets, as is the case with crude oil and natural gas/LNG.

3. the #geothermal power generation system of the Artificial Evolution Research Institute (AERI), which solves the problems of conventional geothermal power generation systems and uses a completely different system, is the only #renewable energy source that can compete with nuclear power as a #base load power source (cheap and stable 24-hour power source).

4. (#carbon-free but not renewable) can also serve as a #base-load power source, but its expansion is limited by cost, waste issues and public perception.

5. the #geothermal technology offered by the #ArtificialEvolution Research Institute (AERI) is a #baseload energy source that can be used for #baseload power generation.

The process of 'pumping hot water and steam from underground to the surface', which is the fatal flaw of conventional #geothermal power, is unnecessary, and only heat is drawn from ultra-deep heat sources to generate electricity by turning turbines.

Therefore, the fatal flaw of conventional #geothermal power generation - 'the circulatory process of pumping pumped water back up to maintain underground pressure' - is no longer necessary.

6.The #geothermal technology offered by the Artificial Evolution Research Institute (AERI) is therefore free from the fatal flaw of conventional #geothermal power: the constraints of heat, fractured rock and groundwater, which must be close to each other and within a few kilometres from the surface.

7. #Geothermal power generation : the only #renewable energy generation that is independent of weather conditions.

(1) #Supplies of strategic commodities such as crude oil and #natural gas are used as a political bargaining chip, #coal-fired and #natural gas-fired power generation emit a lot of #carbon dioxide (CO2), and #wind and solar power generation are fatal to natural disasters and bad weather. Compared to power generation methods that use geothermal energy, which are being researched by the #ArtificialEvolution Research Institute (AERI https://www.aeri-japan.com/), the

(i) 100% domestic supply of power generation resources without dependence on other countries, and

(ii) It is the single best energy source in terms of 'security', and

(iii) It can be supplied stably without being affected by climate change, extreme weather events or natural disasters, and

(iv) The price of raw materials is basically 'zero'.

(5) It has the potential to achieve stable power generation in excess of the 100 GWh (gigawatt hour) class, far exceeding #coal-fired and #natural gas-fired power generation, and rivalling or surpassing nuclear power generation.

(2) While nuclear power generation systems require huge construction costs and a construction period of several tens of billions of yen and 10 years per unit, our geothermal power generation system can be realised with construction costs and a construction period comparable to that of LNG-fired power generation.
